  3. Just Moved Into A New Home? Five Basic To-Dos!
housemove

You’ve succeeded in going through all the mortgage process, and had your offer on a new home accepted! Now, it’s time to physically make that change despite all the overwhelming emotions can accompany it. The first weeks or even months may not be simple or very comfortable, until you make all the big changes you first need. But this blog will point you in simple directions that could be important in taking some of the stress off.

1. Security

Yes! The first thing that should come to mind is making sure the home is completely safe, and taking any kind of measures to make sure everything is secure starting with the front door. There is always modern technology available to give you more control over house security, especially if you have young children. You may start by fixing or changing the lock and having enough spare keys that are also well-protected. Safety first!

2. Toilet clean-up

One of the most important parts of the home and you want to make sure everything in and around the toilet seat is clean. This may require temporarily removing the seat to make sure nothing dirty is lingering around and either put it back/replace it once you feel comfortable putting it to use. Do you remember our guest blogger back in December, who shared his long story about the german toilet? Hah!

3. Air filters

Check up on them, and possibly change them! It’s likely to be a dirty task, but simple and necessary, so that your home receives clean air from the appliances. In the long term, you will avoid silly allergies and diseases.

4. Door painting

Start putting your own colours into YOUR home! It may be the first of many painting jobs, and will be a sign to your neighbours that you’re slowly settling in. How you conduct the paint job is upto you, but it can be inspiring and take some stress away. You’ve started a new life and want to fill it with your favourite colours!

5. Aroma in the air

Scents are becoming a big part of modern home decorations, and potentially a healthy one for the mind and nose. You want to come home to a nice aroma spread around your home everyday, which after a difficult day can improve your mood. It’s also a stress reliever and helps bring an identity to your personal space. Your future guests will appreciate it too!
