How Do You Stay Healthy In The Winter?
Occasionally, one of our blogs deviates from the main topic of conversation. As much as we enjoy working in mortgages and real estate and giving you value in the industry, we also care about the people who take the time to read our blog and wanted to use this blog’s opportunity to remind you all that there is always the threat of the flu in the latter stages of winter, and we want to make sure you avoid it! But how?
Regularly wash your hands. As bad bacteria are always flying around or present in other people’s skins, it’s a good idea to clean up, and not only after coming into contact with food, but after shaking hands with people. Viruses spread through basic human contact so make sure your hands stay clean shortly after a handshake.
Our world today deprives us of sleep as we know it – but that’s a wrong habit to have. Most working hours can be very long, so are the commutes to work, combined with technological addiction which means we can barely spend a few minutes away from a device. All this affects our brain, and especially our sleep after using the phone in bed. However, we should try to sleep more whenever we get the chance. It’s proven to make us healthier and will give us more energy and happiness!
Juice, tea, water, and perhaps even coffee. Drink, drink, drink! Especially the first three. Fluids are crucial to our immune system and well-being, and the more we drink of it, the better. Each have their different uses and can be had depending on our moods.
Along with fluids comes food – you need to eat well as much as possible! We understand that money doesn’t alway allow us to have the best meals, but having fruits, vegetables, meats and carbs on a regular basis, and in a balanced way, will keep you well.
If your lifestyle means you don’t go outdoors very often, especially in the winter – then you must be careful! Getting a breath of fresh air along with some exercise can be extremely beneficial, even for a short time everyday. Staying indoors means you can only breathe what’s around you and not outside.
Minimize your alcohol intake. We understand that events and celebrations happen often, and that you want to toast the occasion with a glass or beer or wine; that is okay as long as you are not consuming copious amounts. It doesn’t help the immunity cells.
Finally, one means of staying warm for many, besides wearing layers of clothing, is lighting up a cigarette. It’s always the worst alternative in any season and it is strongly recommended you stay away from it. It can only damage your health and make you ill!
All that being said, winter will be over soon and we’re excited! Keep well 🙂
