  3. Do You Enjoy Traveling? Here Is Why It’s Good For You!
travelblog1

As we are in the last month of summer, many Canadians are still on holiday mode, or at least want to be; so we are dedicating this to those who are thinking about a short holiday, or are getting ready to go on theirs!

You may not hear it often, but traveling is good for you, just like healthy food! Sadly, only one of them is easier to accomplish on a regular basis. But besides some adrenaline and a big smile, how does travel benefit us?

Travel involves plenty of physical activity. Your feet need to be on the move all the time; whether it’s through getting to transportation or exploration, any form of exercise will do the body good.

It keeps the mind sharp! Especially when you are visiting a new place, your brain has to stay alert to navigate unfamiliar surroundings and get used to them. It also stays sharp by learning a new culture, meeting new people and living a different experience. From a very scientific point of view, it delays degenerative disease. The increase in cognitive stimulation improves your memory and concentration.

Guess what? Creativity also gets better! Writers typically love traveling because it gives them inspiration for a new book or blog. Scientifically, the brain’s neural pathways are positively influenced and synapses in the brain are also sparked.

Have you been stressed out from work, and living in your city? Getting away for a short while will help you relax. A change in scenery always improves the mood and prevents potential depression. Half a year of hard work and a dull routine needs a reset for the mind and body.

One of the biggest benefits of travel is that it helps you see the world differently. You not only learn many new things about places you’ve heard before, but plenty about yourself too. It becomes such a big spiritual experience and you even begin to understand how residents of that particular place live on a daily basis.

Traveling, especially alone, somehow forces you to meet new people that you’d probably not come across in your comfort zone. They can be locals or other tourists who can really open up your world and inspire you in many ways. If you are traveling with one or more people, it’s a good chance to form stronger and deepen relationships, learn more about each other and create new memories.
